Digital learning apps have become today’s most used and most effective learning tools. In addition to online educational games and educational content, experts are also in the process of designing more learning toys as well.
With the new technology, such as touch screen tablets, educational games are brought to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, etc. Some children are not even old enough to sit up by themselves, but are able to function the learning tools provided by educational mobile apps. Mobile apps for education are being designed to enhance learning skills and also to create a “playful learning environment.”
This means that they are designed to create fun learning for children rather than them getting bored with the educational apps for a wide range of educational entertainment. These educational mobile apps are important and popular because this type of technology is in more use than television these days. In fact, 80 % of young adults actually sleep with their smartphone.
The main goal of mobile apps for education is to teach teamwork, collaboration, and learning skills. Learning through these interactive media outlets should improve children’s problem-solving skills, which would give the teacher-to-student platform a break. This is why more classrooms across the United States and several countries have added media learning access to the students.
When we think of this type of technology we can’t help but to think of how expensive this transition would be. Most schools develop fundraisers to fund this type of learning and to get more of these learning apps into the classrooms. Programs such as “ABC Mouse,” is very popular within classrooms all over the United States. Not only is it a learning tool, but kids also enjoy using the program.
I believe there is a small fee of $9.95 to start it off, however, the results of learning is amazingly worth it. Small kids as young as one or two can easily navigate the program as well. Furthermore, there are mobile apps for education that allows children to interact and even design and create their own stickers! Children can design up to 83 different types of stickers.
The PBS app includes vocabulary, Math, Spelling, rhyming, letter recognition, and a host of other learning tools. In conclusion, mobile apps for education are an overall enhancement in the 21st century. Children can learn in the car on a road trip, at home, and even while waiting in a doctor’s office.
Marketers have specifically keyed target age contents that will create a repetitive usage process as well as increase a want to learn. They want to keep creating apps that appealing and engaging to children. For example, V-Tech create a virtual learning experience, where children can plug there device into the television and appear to be in an actual fun learning game.
Overall, the mobile apps for education are outstanding, creative, useful, and relevant. Whatever the cost is to download these apps are more than worth it. I would highly recommend these apps for any child, including my own.
